General Assembly is looking for a mechanically inclined individual who can learn to assemble high volume units of complex consumer goods at our retail customer locations. If your are selected you would be assembling items for major retailers such as grills, wheel barrows, patio furniture, bikes, exercise equipment and additional product the stores need for display use.
You would not be an employee of these retailers.
You would work for General Assembly and the retailer is our customer.
The following are mandatory requirements for this position:
?Have your own RELIABLE transportation (not rideshare or borrowing transportation from others) Travel is regularly required and you are responsible for getting yourself to work every day. You may have some travel outside your local travel area of 5-40miles. On a daily basis, you will be assigned to a store. You will arrive at the store at 8 am.
?You must have your own tools. Assembly technicians are expected to have all tools necessary to perform any service we offer with them at ALL TIMES. These items are REQUIRED to be eligible to be certified and allowed to work. Most tools are common and readily available, however, we use specific tools for bicycle assembly that can be purchased through General Assembly. These tools include a bike stand, air compressor, and 18v cordless impact gun. You will be allowed to use a training set of tools during your certification training period. In most cases, you will be able to make enough money during your first week of work that you can cover a full set of tools. Your supervisor will verify your tool set, or qualifications for an assistance program to purchase tools. You will need to bring them all with you to work every day. It is imperative to your success that you possess the right tools immediately.
? You must have regular internet access. General Assembly employs a proprietary mobile app for scheduling. You will need to use your mobile app daily as part of your job requirement. Smartphones and Laptops are acceptable as long as you have regular internet access.
?Applicant should be self motivated and very responsible. This position is very physically demanding.
?Applicant must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal back ground check.
Commission based position. Your productivity rate will determine your rate & level of pay. Certified technicians will make between $10.00 to $15.00 or more an hour DOE and productivity.
Out of Area Mileage reimbursed. Hourly Pay for a 1 week training period. Once, certified commission pay will be based on assembly productivity.
