Elizabeth Ponder currently serves as the Dean of Library Services for the Mamye Jarrett Library at East Texas Baptist University. Ms. Ponder earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies along with her Texas Teaching Certificate in Language Arts and Social Studies Grades 4-8 from the University of Texas at Tyler. After serving as a classroom teacher for grades 6-8, Ponder earned her M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Texas. In her time at ETBU, Elizabeth has worked in various roles including Manager of Instruction & Information Services for the library, Program Coordinator for the Center for Excellence in Christian Scholarship (CECS), General Education coordinator, and has served on several committees. Over the last several years, Ms. Ponder has had the opportunity to give several professional presentations related to information literacy for college students. Ms. Ponder is passionate about education, and she believes that providing access to trustworthy information is a key component in equipping lifelong learners.
