The ETBU Goes Green campaign began this Fall 2008. The program is to increase energy efficiency on campus, reduce energy costs, and act as good stewards of the resources, both financial and natural, that God has given us.
We are excited about it and we hope you will be as well.
One of the easiest places for us to save energy with little inconvenience is by switching out light bulbs. Starting the Fall, students will be asked to use only Compact Fluorescent bulbs in dorm room lamps and reading lights. These are the “curly cue” bulbs that use significantly less energy and produce less heat. Incandescent or traditional light bulbs should be replaced with these compact florescent bulbs, available at Lowe’s, Walmart, and other retailers.
We hope to make this a campus-wide effort to reduce ETBU’s carbon footprint, save energy, and set a good example of stewardship for the larger community.
