Windham named to “Team of the Week”

For the third week in a row the East Texas Baptist University baseball team has earned an award.  Designated hitter Phillip Windham was named to the D3baseball.com “Team of the Week” for his play in four games.

Windham batted .429 last in four games vs. North Central and no. 7 Texas-Tyler with two home runs.  He went 6-of-14 earning five RBI and was walked two times.  In a 12-7 win over Texas-Tyler, he went 3-of-5 with four RBI and a home run.  In a nine-inning game vs. North Central, he swatted his eighth home run of the year that put ETBU up 5-3.  Windham leads the American Southwest Conference with nine home runs and heading into this week he was tied for second in the nation with seven.

Windham is a junior kinesiology from Keithville, La. This past year as a sophomore, Windham led the Tigers five home runs.
