Twice an Honor for Kolby Sharp
Being named as the American Southwest Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week is an honor for any ETBU volleyball player. Being named for the second consecutive week, makes the recognition even bigger.
Sophomore Kolby Sharp from Pearland has been named the ASC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second consecutive week she has garnered the award.
The Lady Tiger middle blocker recorded a .409 attack (61-14-115) and averaged 3.59 kills per set over the four East Texas Baptist wins at the Rhodes College Invitational. The senior collected a career single-game best 24 kills with seven blocks vs. Rhodes. Sharp added 15 digs to help the ETBU defensive effort and extend the Tigers’ season win streak to eight games.
The first time this season in which Sharp was named Offensive Player of the Week Sharp had 46 kills in four matches and hit .594 overall. She also recorded eight serving aces and 11 blocks. She had her best hitting performance vs. Jarvis Christian with 11 kills, one error, on 14 attempts for a .714 percentage.
Before the season started, Sharp was voted the Preseason ASC Defensive Player of the Year.
