Luncheon Held in Honor of ETBU Retirees

Posted by Tiger Pride in Alumni, Faculty/Staff, Honors, Memories on the Hill

Dr. Dub Oliver addresses the ETBU Retirees at the annual ETBU Retiree Luncheon held July 13 in the OSC.ETBU recently held a luncheon to honor ETBU faculty and staff retirees. The annual luncheon is hosted by Dr. Dub and the administrative cabinet.

Now, it’s great that those who attended were able to come back to the Hill and see the new OSC, the BSC (which is currently being renovated), and to learn about what is going on around the campus.

For that, we’re proud.

But even more than that, we are proud of our retirees. Years of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and loyalty to our University is something that will never go unnoticed. We talk a lot about the Light on the Hill that shines so brightly, but just as bright are the years of service our ETBU retirees have given to this school. Through good times, bad times, times of ease, and times of great difficulty, these retirees have served with integrity and honor and have done so much more than educate, administrate, or serve the physical needs of the University…they’ve left a legacy.

As a graduate of ETBU, I am honored to be a part of a family of Tigers who have lived amazing lives in service to their fields, their country, their university, and most importantly, to our Father in Heaven. But now as an employee of this great institution, I have joined the ranks of those who served before me to allow this place to fufill the motto, A World of Opportunity in a Community of Faith.

So it is more than the desire to do a good job, or to see the University advanced. We, the faculty and staff of ETBU work diligently with purpose to educate and facilitate our students. But we also strive to honor the legacy of those who have come before us – a legacy of honor, service, and integrity.

For that, we are monumentally proud.

So to those ETBU retirees who were able to attend, to those who were not, and to all those who have gone before us, thank you for your service to this great University. As the current faculty and staff are proud of your time on the Hill, we hope to honor the legacy you left by our honor, service, and integrity.

Way to go ETBU Retirees! GO BLUE!
