East Texas Baptist University running back Toi Glover has been recognized by the American Southwest Conference as the Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers, 34-32, win over Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.
Glover, a junior from Palmer, Texas, produced a career-high 40 carries going over the 1,000 yard rushing barrier with his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season. Glover finished with 170 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns against the Lobos with one in the first half and one in the second half to keep ETBU within striking distance. Glover’s 40 carries are the most by an ASC running back in a single game this season. Glover finishes the season with 1,037 yards rushing.
Also in the last Tiger football game of the season, receiver Tyler Bates caught two touchdown passes from Jake McClain breaking the single season record for touchdown catches at 10. Bates, a sophomore from Joshua, Texas, surpasses Earl Morris (2003) and Jabori Jackson (2001) record of nine.
