ETBU Honored with Award from Marshall Regional Arts Council
Posted by Tiger Pride in Honors
Recently, ETBU was presented with the 2011 Partners in the Arts Award, given by the Marshall Regional Arts Council (MRAC) “with heartfelt appreciation for your support of the arts and humanities in our great city.”
The MRAC was formed in 1979 under the leadership of Dr. Gwin Morris, the Academic Dean of ETBC at that time. Dr. Morris served as the president of the Arts Council then, and ETBU’s Dr. Jerry Hopkins serves as the current president.
Joyce Weekly is the Executive Director of the Arts Council whose mission is to support, promote, encourage participation, and involvement of all citizens of the region in quality experiences both in the Arts and Humanities. Through the years, ETBU has had many staff and faculty as members of the MRAC or served in leadership roles of the organization.
Built into the fabric of ETBU is faith, education, as well as service to our community, state, nation, and the world. We are so proud to have the opportunity to make a difference in Marshall, and very humbled and thankful for the award and of the work the MRAC does in Marshall.
Thanks to Mike Midkiff, Director of Public Relations for this story.
