Our brave presenters will be the five recipients of our 2014 Intersection of Innovation and Student Engagement grants. Dr. Sandy Hoover, Dr. Warren Johnson, Dr. Robin McClaran, Dr. Marty Warren, and Dr. Troy White will each have 6 minutes to present the findings from their innovative student engagement projects. This is meant to be a fast-paced, fun way of sharing our research, but we also hope that you'll leave with fresh ideas on how to engage your students. MEN'S TENNIS CANCELLED FOR FRIDAY THE 27TH

       The Men's Tennis game against UTD for Friday the 27th has been postponed due to inclement weather. The Saturday game at 3pm for Women's Tennis is not cancelled at this time.

       The Baseball games are cancelled for Hardin Simmons due to inclement weather. All Baseball players will be in class Friday the 27th.

MEN'S BASKETBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

       The Men's Basketball Conference Championships will be held today at noon, 2:30pm, 5:00pm and ETBU playing at 7:30pm. Faculty and Staff with ETBU ID will be admitted free for bleacher seating provided by the President's office. Tickets may be upgraded to chair-back seating for $3. Semifinals games will be held on Friday at 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Finals will be held at 4:00pm Saturday. See you at the games!

SYMPHONIC BAND CONCERT

       The ETBU Symphonic Band will perform a concert Friday, February 27 at 7pm in Baker Auditorium. Seniors Hunter Barrett and Shelbi Herndon will be featured on Handel's stunningly beautiful ode, Eternal Source of Light Divine, and the band will present world premieres of new transcriptions by Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Admission is free.

       ALL HealthPlex Ornelas Gymnasium Lockerrooms will be closed during the Conference Basketball Tournament. WE will be using them for teams and officials. Your patience and understanding will be greatly appreciated!!

ETBU SYMPHONIC BAND HOLDS CONCERT ON FEBRUARY 27TH AT 7:00 P.M.
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (2/26/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band will be in concert on Friday, February 27, at 7:00 p.m. The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mark Crim, will perform in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center located on campus at One Tiger Drive. The concert is free and the community is invited to attend.

   MARSHALL, Texas (2/27/15) - After weeks of speculation on who was the special guest to speak in Chapel at East Texas Baptist University the students, faculty, and staff welcomed Jep Robertson of A&E's Duck Dynasty to campus. Robertson spoke Friday morning before a capacity crowd in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center.

   MARSHALL, Texas (2/19/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Honors Project program has its largest group of students this semester than ever before. A total of nine students from seven different academic departments are involved in the honors project endeavor.

MARSHALL, Texas (2/02/15) - The 20th Annual Sam B. Hall Jr. Lecture and Banquet will be held on Monday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Phillips Great Room on the ground floor of the Bennett Student Commons at East Texas Baptist University. The lecture series program commemorates the late United States Representative and federal judge Sam B. Hall, Jr., who was a Marshall native and an alumnus of the College of Marshall, which is now ETBU.

ETBU'S STIFLING DEFENSE DIFFERENCE AS THEY ADVANCE TO ASC SEMI-FINALS
 
   BASKETBALL (M): MARSHALL, Texas (2/26/15) - Top seeded East Texas Baptist University put together a strong second half advancing to their second-ever semi-final game in program history with a 67-52 win over the University of the Ozarks in the American Southwest Conference tournament. ETBU had only a nine-point lead at the half, 24-15, before putting up 43 points and 50 percent in the second half.

PREVIEW: ASC TOURNAMENT
 
   BASKETBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (2/26/15) - This has been a banner season for the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team. The team went 20-5 overall with a 15-5 record in conference, winning their first ASC regular season title in the Division III era. ETBU is in the ASC Tournament for the second year in a row, their fifth appearance in the last six years. This will be the first time ETBU has hosted the men's basketball tournament since the 2002-03 season.

   TRACK & FIELD: MARSHALL, Texas (2/24/15) - After competing in their first meet last weekend, the East Texas Baptist University track teams swept the player of the week honors as Cody Blankenship took the honor for the men and Shelby Sparks took if for the women.

   BASKETBALL (M): MARSHALL, Texas (2/25/15) - The American Southwest Conference has announced the bracket for the eight-team 2015 ASC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, with East Texas Baptist earning the No. 1 seed.
