ETBU SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS PRESENTS FALL MUSICAL
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (9/22/14) - East Texas Baptist University's School of Fine Arts presents their fall musical, Urinetown, by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollman as a benefit to raise money for Hope Springs Water. Performances for Urinetown will be at the Marshall Convention Center, located at 2501 East End Boulevard, Marshall, Texas. Production dates are October 2-4 at 7:30 p.m and October 5 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 general admission; reservations are not required.

ETBU DEBATE WINS 3RD PLACE AT SEASON OPENER
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (9/22/14) - The East Texas Baptist University debate team travelled to Baytown, Texas for the Lee College Kickoff Classic debate tournament held September 20-21. The 10-member team competed against a number of other schools from Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas and came away with the third place overall sweepstakes prize. This is the second year in a row that the ETBU team has finished in the top three at its season opening tournament.

ETBU REPORTS ENROLLMENT INCREASE
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (9/11/14) - East Texas Baptist University announces an overall enrollment increase of 53 students over last year's total, which equates to a 4.2% growth. Final numbers have been confirmed and a total of 1,300 students are enrolled for the fall 2014 semester, which compares to 1,247 last fall. The increase can be attributed to gains in both new and graduate student enrollment.

THIRD QUARTER OFFENSIVE BURST PUSHES ETBU TO 2ND STRAIGHT WIN
 
   FOOTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (9/20/14)- It was a dominant third quarter that was the difference in the game as East Texas Baptist University held Southwestern University (1-1) to no points en route to a 58-34 win. Taking just a 31-27 lead into the locker room, ETBU scored 20 points in the third quarter and held the Pirates scoreless for a 51-27 lead.

   SOCCER (M): MARSHALL, Texas (9/20/14) - Hitting the field for the first time since their grueling loss at Millsaps, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team finally put all the pieces together get their first victory of the season, a 1-0 win in double overtime.

   VOLLEYBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (9/19/14) - Gaining more confidence in every match, East Texas Baptist University swept Howard Payne University, 25-12, 25-7, 25-16, improving to 2-1 in the American Southwest Conference. ETBU has now won 12 straight matches in Ornelas Gym and are 4-8 overall on the year.

   CROSS COUNTRY (W): NEW SUMMERFIELD, Texas (9/20/14) - Another meet, another top 20 finish for Shelby Taylor. Saturday at the East Texas Invitational Taylor finished 16th with a time of 20:37.5, which led the team once again. In their first meet in over two weeks the team finished seventh at the East Texas Invitational.

MNM: JAYNES DEFENSIVE DYNAMO FOR ETBU
 
   MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (9/19/14) - ETBU's David Jaynes runs with the ball after an interception last season against Texas Lutheran. Last week against Austin College, Jaynes had six tackles, two tackles for losses (including a safety), two passes batted down and a strip-sack on a play in which he recovered the fumble.
