       ETBU Faculty and Staff are invited to bring their families and join students for our second annual ETBU Night @ Splash Kingdom. This year, in addition to use of the water slides, we will be featuring a Dive in Movie showing of Amazing Spider Man 2. Weather permitting, please join us Saturday, August 30th.        As you may know we have migrated to a new version of Campus Connect, and one of the new features available to you in this new version is the ability to submit your verification rosters electronically. This is fine for you to do if you prefer this medium to printing them, signing them, and turning them in to the Registrar's Office. However, if you submit electronically, you MUST wait until Friday Sept. 5th, or Monday, Sept. 8th, if you have a Friday only class. You absolutely MUST NOT submit these rosters before the last day students may add a class which is Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, as we do not have the ability to clear your roster for re-submission if a student adds late to your class, and your ...

HOMESCHOOLED ELEMENTARY STUDENTS SOUGHT

       I am looking for homeschooled 2nd and 3rd grade children to serve as a practice class for my senior music education majors. The children will get ten weeks of free music classes with instruments, singing, moving, technology, and more (fully supervised at all times by me, a certified and experienced music educator), and will help provide our college students with a valuable educational experience. Classes will be Tuesdays from 11:10 to 11:40 a.m., September 16, 23, 30; October 7, 14, 21, 28; and November 4, 11, 18.        I happy to announce Dr. Stan Coppinger has been named the new director of our university's Scholars Program starting the 2014 fall semester. Stan directed the honors program at LeTourneau University for seven years and worked with Dr. Cassie Falke to establish the ETBU honors program three years ago. He is excited for this opportunity and looks forward to working with the students and expanding the program even further. Stan will be convening a work group along with Dr. Marty Warren, chair of the Honor?s Committee, to look at ways to strengthen our scholars and honors programs. In addition, we are finalizing plans for development of designated space for honors and scholars to meet.

ETBU STUDENTS INVOLVED IN WELCOME WEEK SERVICE PROJECTS

   MARSHALL, Texas (8/27/14) - First time freshman and transfer students of East Texas Baptist University fanned out into the community on Friday morning, August 22, 2014, to do Welcome Week service projects. The new Tigers, who moved in the day before, gave a helping hand to all six Marshall ISD elementary schools, Mission Marshall, My Friends House, Boys and Girls Club of the Big Pines, Belaire Manor and Ward Apartments, Dayspring Therapeutic Equestrian Center, and cleared nails from utility poles.

ETBU HOLDS 4TH ANNUAL GREAT EAST TEXAS HYMN SING ON SEPTEMBER 12TH
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (8/8/14)- East Texas Baptist University will hold its Fourth Annual Great East Texas Hymn Sing on Friday, September 12, in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center from 1:00 p.m.to 3:00 p.m. The Great East Texas Hymn Sing will be a time of enthusiastic singing led by great leaders from the East Texas area.

   SOCCER (M): MARSHALL, Texas (8/28/14) - With an optimistic outlook for the 2014 season, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team begins its second season under Paul Grant. ETBU made the American Southwest Conference tournament for the first time since 1999 last year in Grant's first season.

   BASKETBALL (W): MARSHALL, Texas (8/25/14) - Bringing back one of their own to be the assistant coach to Dustin Howard, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team has hired Marzetta Shepard. She replaces Stephanie Taylor who left to become an assistant coach at Texas A&M-Commerce.

   SOCCER: MARSHALL, Texas (8/25/14) - The East Texas Baptist University soccer program has made a new addition to the men's and women's coaching staff adding Matt Callaway. The former Lyon College goalkeeper has joined the staff as a goaltending coach.

THREE NEW COACHES ADDED TO @ETBUCOACHEARGLE 'S STAFF IN 2014
 
   FOOTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (8/25/14) - Finishing out his staff this summer, head coach Joshua Eargle added three new coaches to strengthen the coaching staff at East Texas Baptist University. The new coaches bring NCAA Division I coaching and playing experience along with NCAA Division III playoff experiences and American Southwest Conference championships. Eargle has hired Jon Clark (Arizona State), Brian Niedermeyer (Arkansas-Pine Bluff), and Bryan Jones (Mary Hardin-Baylor).
