REPORTS TO: Minister of Education & Administration
PURPOSE: The Intern program of First Baptist Church is designed to enhance ministry to preschoolers and grade school children in our church and in the Hallsville area as well as to provide on-the-job training for individuals preparing for full-time Christian ministry.
CONSIDERATIONS: The position will begin the first part of September or as soon as possible thereafter and runs through August 31, 2014, (with a possibility of being extended beyond this for a period to be determined by a mutual agreement between the church and the intern.) Salary will be $150 per week for non-summer months; and $250 per week for the 3 months of summer (June, July, and August). This salary is based on an average of 15-20 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have assurance of personal salvation through Jesus Christ and be growing in love for God and others.
2. Must have completed High School, but preferably at least one year of college.
3. Must be teachable and flexible concerning methods and philosophy of children’s ministry.

Seinan Gakuin is an educational institution in Fukuoka City, Japan existing to support and enhance the presence and witness of Christian teachers and other Christian workers at Seinan Gakuin. Associates serving at Seinan Gakuin must be college graduates with vibrant Christin faiths and native speakers of English. They must also be available to travel to Japan in March and willing to serve for at least 12 months. Presently, associates assist the chaplain of Seinan Gakuin, Lydia Barrow Hankins, and as an English teacher at Seinan Gakuin Junor-Senior High School. As a houseparent at Watersprings Ranch, you will live in a fully furnished group home provided by the Ranch. Houseparents are on-duty 28 consecutive days and then receive 6 consecutive days of time off. During their time off, houseparents are allowed to stay in the home while the children pack up and move to our “Relief” home for those 6 days.
Houseparents receive a combined salary and housing, utilities, food, and fuel expenses are provided during the 28 days houseparents are on-duty. In addition, other benefits such as a group health insurance, dental and vision insurance, and various other benefits are offered.

General Purpose of Position:
The Worship Leader is employed to assist the Pastor and the congregation with the preparation and implementation of corporate worship experiences. The position is classified as a salaried, full-time position.
The Pastor supervises the Worship Leader. In conjunction with the church calendar and general ministry needs, the Pastor will coordinate and authorize the Worship Leader’s work schedule.
This position’s primary function is Worship Leader. A spirit and focus of assistance to the pastor, other ministerial staff, and members of First Baptist Church of Palestine is necessary.
Requirements for the Position:
The person must be a committed follower of Jesus. Competency as a musician, strong organizational skills, and the ability to use technology effectively are essential. The completion of additional coursework in music and/or worship leadership is preferred. Work experience in church ministry service and leadership is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Primary weekly responsibilities include leading multiple services with the various groups.
2. To engage the congregation in worship, rehearsing a band, rehearsing with the choir, and rehearsing with all other music and worship groups.
3. Primarily responsible for selection of music and creative elements with the Pastor and coordinating volunteers.
4. Serve as a part of the ministry staff team, assisting in ministry and service to the membership of FBCP and the surrounding community.
5. Lead in Worship Gatherings and special services.
6. Supervise and equip the instrumentalists and other volunteers in the worship ministry and audio/video ministry.
7. Establish goals and expectations for presentations by musical groups and soloists.
8. Participate and attend worship and corporate gatherings of the congregation, unless duties related to the position require attendance elsewhere.
General Office Duties:
1. When at the office receive incoming calls and forward them to the appropriate staff member or take messages.
2. Greet and assist persons coming to the church office and direct them to appropriate staff members.
3. Assist other ministry staff members in preparation of correspondence.
4. Attend and participate in Support Staff meetings as scheduled.
Office Procedures:
1. Be on time for office hours.
2. Return telephone calls within a reasonable time period.
3. Attend all scheduled staff meetings except when job duties, personal leave, vacation, or illness prevent your presence.
4. Meet deadlines for requested materials.
5. Clear vacation and time away requests in advance with the pastor using the request forms.
6. Report all time away through Pastoral Ministries Assistant. This includes conferences, camps, and conventions as well as vacation, sick leave, and personal time.
7. Keep the office staff informed of your schedule.
8. Respect others office and personal space.
