RESPONSIBILITIES:

Aquatics Director
The Aquatics Director will uphold Splash Kingdom?s policies and procedures to the fullest extent, while setting an example for staff members that portrays servant leadership and a positive, high energy attitude.
As an integral member of the management team, the Aquatics Director will:

Assist in ensuring an exceptional guest experience to all who attend the facility.

Operations
During the operating season the Aquatics Director will be responsible for:

All outside aquatic operations.

The implementation of revenue generating aquatics programs such as a junior lifeguard program.

Implementing a "learn to swim" program as a low or no cost service to the community.

Working directly with water safety team to provide exceptional guest service while maintaining a highly regarded safe facility.

Maintaining all required first aid supplies and replenish as needed, in addition to the maintenance of required emergency rescue equipment and repairs as needed.

Establishing a lifeguard incentive internal audit program to maintain the internal accountability of the lifeguards; will serve as the main contact for E&A audits, including the required documentation as stated by E&A.

Represent the facility in the event of a safety audit.

Seasonal Staffing
The Aquatics Director will assist in the task of hiring and training the staff for the upcoming season, as well as:

Departmental training for park protocols and procedures in addition to ILTP lifeguard courses.

Create and utilize an in-service training schedule for continued training and maintaining test ready standards.

Developing team leaders to successfully model and maintain high standards for this department.

Utilize an incentive program to encourage and reward those staff members who constantly achieve high success and standards.

Scheduling staff for daily operations to include early morning pre-open cleaning and closing duties.


Off-Season
During the off season the Aquatics Director will be responsible for:

Properly closing attractions and doing a post season inspection of all attractions and pools.

Prioritizing projects to be completed before the next season.

Waxing of the slides in the fall, as well as in the spring prior to park opening.

Identifying repairs that can be made in the fall as opposed to the spring to allow for a smooth spring opening.

Painting outside attractions and insuring that all depth markers will be visible for operating.

Assisting in construction and maintenance of new attractions and buildings.

Assisting in the painting of structures and floor surfaces as deemed necessary.

Taking a detailed inventory of tubes, mats and other necessary components to order replacements with plenty of time for delivery.

Taking inventory of rescue equipment and staff equipment and uniforms to be sufficiently prepared for the operating season.

Analyzing maintenance and accident reports to identify issues and attempt to rectify any continuing problems.

Hiring and training staff in order to be ready prior to the start of the next season.

Researching ways to be most cost effective with ordering and operations.


Minimum Requirements
College degree in Sports and Recreation; Business Management; or Education, along with a minimum of three (3) years and/or seasons of aquatic experience. (Possible option of outstanding work experience)
Must have:

A willingness and ability to work long summer hours as well as some holidays and weekends throughout the year.

Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs., walking/standing for long periods of time, working outdoors in a hot and humid climate with temperatures over 100 degrees.

Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel. Knowledge of computerized scheduling a plus.

Complies with the departments Mandatory Stay Over (MSO) policy when administration determines that the safety and security of the juveniles necessitates for staff members to work additional hours. Works scheduled hours according to assigned shift. Adheres to all departmental policies and procedures, the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) standards; federal, state, and local statutes at all times. Position requires working with dangerous/aggressive youths; should possess a high tolerance for working in an emotionally demanding/stressful work environment. All New Employees Are Required To Undergo and Pass A Physical Examination Administered By The Detention Center Staff Physician And Also Present Evidence Of TB Skin Test Prior To Employment. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY INTERN

REPORTS TO: Minister of Education & Administration

PURPOSE: The Intern program of First Baptist Church is designed to enhance ministry to preschoolers and grade school children in our church and in the Hallsville area as well as to provide on-the-job training for individuals preparing for full-time Christian ministry.

CONSIDERATIONS: The position will begin the first part of September or as soon as possible thereafter and runs through August 31, 2014, (with a possibility of being extended beyond this for a period to be determined by a mutual agreement between the church and the intern.) Salary will be $150 per week for non-summer months; and $250 per week for the 3 months of summer (June, July, and August). This salary is based on an average of 15-20 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have assurance of personal salvation through Jesus Christ and be growing in love for God and others.
2. Must have completed High School, but preferably at least one year of college.
3. Must be teachable and flexible concerning methods and philosophy of children’s ministry.
4. Must be able to meet regularly with the Minister of Education and participate in strategic planning for implementing a well-balanced and growing ministry with children and their families.
5. Preference will be given to candidates who sense a call to Children’s Ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve as a partner and resource for leaders of current children’s ministries, including: Sunday School, RA’s and GA’s, monthly Children’s Church, MOPs and VBS.
2. Provide a pre-program activity on Wednesday nights.
3. Meet with program leaders (the Children’s Ministry Team) on a regular basis to facilitate planning, coordinate calendaring, and discuss needs.
4. Facilitate and encourage outreach in ongoing programs as well as through other creative avenues.
5. Implement strategies to provide needed training and encouragement for volunteers.
6. Be responsible for planning meaningful ministries in the summer months including Sunday and Wednesday nights; weekly activities for older children who have completed grades 3-5 (Terrific Tuesdays, trips, activities, studies, etc.); and one or two events per month for younger children; and, assist in enlisting needed leadership and helpers.
7. Attend all worship services on Sunday and will participate as requested, including leading children in worship time as assigned.
8. Serve weekly in an assigned role in the Preschool or Children’s Sunday School department.

Seinan Gakuin 4-L Foundation Associate (2013)

Seinan Gakuin is an educational institution in Fukuoka City, Japan existing to support and enhance the presence and witness of Christian teachers and other Christian workers at Seinan Gakuin. Associates serving at Seinan Gakuin must be college graduates with vibrant Christin faiths and native speakers of English. They must also be available to travel to Japan in March and willing to serve for at least 12 months. Presently, associates assist the chaplain of Seinan Gakuin, Lydia Barrow Hankins, and as an English teacher at Seinan Gakuin Junor-Senior High School. Weekly activities include teaching classes at the university and at the junior-senior high school and engaging in various witnessing activities on both campuses and in a local church on Sundays. Witnessing activities include teaching English Bible classes, meeting people, engaging in club activities and the like. Associates are encouraged to engage in Japanese language learning opportunities to the extent there is time and money to do so. The 4-L Foundation will provide transportation expenses from an airport near the associate's home directly to Fukuoka City and will make suitable housing arrangements. The trip to Japan will be at an agreed upon date in March 2014 in time for the beginning of the academic year on April 1st. By September 15, 2014, the 4-L Foundation will decide if a second year of service will be offered to the associate. If so, the foundation will provide a round-trip ticket to an airport near the associate's home for up to two weeks between December 2014 and April 2015. If there should be a second renewal for a third year, the same arrangement would be made for 2015-2016.
