Nursing Internships at Scott & White
Nursing Internships
The Scott & White Nursing Internship Program is designed to assist recent graduates in transitioning to the role of a professional registered nurse in a specialized area. The internships are comprised of both classroom and clinical experiences. The length of the internship varies from 10 – 24 weeks, depending on the area.
Nurse Interns are paid at the established S&W entry-level staff nurse rate. Because it is required that interns rotate to various shifts, the standard shift differentials are paid. The intern will be employed for at least one year following the completion of the internship, or will be obligated to repay the costs incurred. Critical Care
Rotate through the specialty areas of Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU and Cardiothoracic ICU – 17 weeks

POSITION: Scholarship Coordinator

Honesty, integrity, and professional qualities appropriate for the administration of financial aid programs are required. Must have at least two years related experience. JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinate scholarship team activities involving president's office, business office, marketing, campus publications, enrollment services, athletic department, and financial aid.
Maintain permanent scholarship donor files. Set up initial file for new scholarships. Update donor and fund information as it becomes available. Provide updates to General Bulletin and website. Work with marketing to publicize new and existing scholarships as appropriate. Publicize applicable, credible external scholarships on campus.
Review scholarship fund balances on a regular basis. Communicate balance information as necessary with donors and campus personnel. Become familiar with distribution policy and confirm donations are receipted correctly. Determine number of scholarships to be awarded each semester. Maintain template of scholarships and recipients.
Review scholarship applications, and maintain roster of scholarship applications.
Meet with scholarship donors, prospective donors, applicants, recipients, high school counselors, other students and parents. Work with public information to recognize scholarship recipients in the media.
Serve as liaison to the faculty Scholarship Committee.
Award internal and external scholarship funds to students. Award Staff/Dependent scholarships after certification by Human Resources. Award athletic scholarships, and calculate COA for athletes and adjust their student budget. Also coordinate athletic awards with any federal financial aid or other scholarships received. Write and award Rotary Loans. Provide awarding back-up for Third Party scholarships and needs-based financial aid. Maintain records of all awards and receipts.
Coordinate communication with Distance Learning. Be responsible for Academic Concurrent Scholarship.
Prepare and mail scholarship award letters to recipients. Follow up with recipients to assure acceptance letters and donor thank you letters are received.
Prepare and mail thank you letters to all donors, along with thank you letters from students, at least once per year. Ensure proper attribution is sent to all donors.
Work with Financial Aid Outreach Coordinator to assure that scholarship deadlines, applications, and information is disseminated to all area high schools and that qualified applications are received from each school for the TLL Temple 21st Century scholarship. Present scholarships at high school graduations and award ceremonies; assist with financial aid/scholarship presentations in the schools as needed.
Prepare monthly, semi-annual and annual scholarship reports. Assist Director of Financial Aid with identification, awarding and notification of Texas Grant and TEOG recipients. Complete and submit other reports as requested by the Director of Financial Aid.
Develop proficiency with Data Management System to be able to extract required reports.
CONTRACT & SALARY: Twelve months contract. Salary range $30,000-$32,000 depending on education and experience. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate. Continued employment is contingent on grant funding.

Principal Work Assignments:
While under the guidance of a higher-level compliance specialist, observes and participates in a variety of applications of the provisions of the laws enforced by Wage and Hour in diverse situations, and the use of varied compliance techniques, including education and persuasion, conciliation, investigation, and negotiation. Conducts investigations involving issues and situations to resolve a wide variety of minimum wage, overtime, child labor, coverage, exemption, employment eligibility, and other compliance issues in agriculture, commercial, industrial, and other business establishments, public institutions, and domestic service in households. (This position is subject to frequent travel and requires a valid drivers’ license. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) has not been authorized.)
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
One (1) full year of graduate level education OR Superior Academic Achievement OR One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level. Equivalent combinations of education and experience is qualifying.
SAA is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
