The Department of Communication
seeks to provide students pursuing a degree in mass communication or speech communication with the theoretical foundations and practical knowledge of effective personal and public communication principles. The department offers courses in the general education curriculum and majors and minors in three sequences: Speech Communication, Speech Education, and Mass Communication.

Debate
The ETBU Debate Team was revived in the Fall of 2008 after many years of inactivity. The team traveled to seven tournaments including the International Public Debate Association National Championship Tournament during the season. The team is open to any student regardless of major. No prior experience is necessary. If you are interested in learning more about the ETBU Debate Team, contact Dr. Cole Franklin at 903-923-2288 or email him at cfranklin@etbu.edu.
Student Newspaper
The ETBU Compass is a bi-weekly student newspaper with a paid staff that publishes news about what's going on at ETBU. Radio
In January of 2009, ETBU launched its Internet streaming radio station, Level 1209. The station operates 24-hours per day, 7 days poer week during the regular fall and spring semesters. The station is operated entirely by ETBU student directors. Click on the link above to take a listen!
