While students are given many opportunities to participate and play important functions in our mainstage productions working under our faculty directors; the next, and critically important,step in the student's development is the opportunity to do it on their own - the Discovery Series gives them that chance. Discovery Series productions are completely student driven from the inception of the project to the final performance. Students are given the chance to write, direct, design, run, and produce original, experimental, or traditional pieces.
Students submit proposals for Discovery Series productionsin late spring each year for review of the faculty. These production spotsare very competitive. Once the production season is set, students may apply for design and crew positions. Participation in Discovery Series productions greatly expands student portfolios and resumes, and gives them the confidence and know-how to go and do more beyond our walls.
