Dr. Jane Ogden
Professor of psychology

I am a proud product of the public schools in Baton Rouge, LA, Jackson, MS, The Hague, Holland, Midland, TX, Corpus Christi, TX, and Houston, TX. When I graduated from high school, I went to the University of Texas at Austin and firmly planted my feet in the same place for a while. There I earned a BA in psychology, a MA in school psychology, and a PhD in psychology. Subsequently I was employed by the Austin Independent School District as an evaluator in the Research and Development Department in charge of all of the system-wide testing: yes, achievement testing, graduation requirement testing, and also reading readiness testing, language dominance testing, and more. I married Al Davis in my middle thirties and we had two wonderful sons, who are now grown. One is married and in an MBA program in Florida; the other is teaching English in Guangzhou, China. My experiences raising those two amazing children have added a depth to my understanding of developmental psychology that was missing when I was merely a Ph.D. student!
Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
