The Purpose of the Behavioral Sciences Society is:

  • To stimulate student interest in the various fields of the Behavioral Sciences, including Psychology, Sociology, Social Psychology, and Anthropology and to seek to find ways to connect this learning with faith.
  • To promote excellence and integrity in all aspects, means, and methods of academics, especially within the areas of the Behavioral Sciences.
  • To strive to use knowledge of the Behavioral Sciences in service of others, seeking to improve their life situations.
  • To advocate and participate in research so as to advance the fields of the Behavioral Sciences and to lead towards the discovery of truth.

The East Texas Baptist University Behavioral Sciences Society requires that each member meet the following requirements:

  • Students shall be majors or minors in any Behavioral Science discipline with a degree plan on file.
  • Students shall have and maintain an overall grade point average of 3.00.
  • Students shall be nominated and inducted by students already active members within the society at the induction ceremony held each semester.
