Dr. Kristen Bugos

Assistant Professor of Music, Dr. Kristen Bugos, joins the faculty this Fall.  She serves as the Coordinator of Music Education and teaches the elementary music methods courses and the class piano and piano pedagogy courses.

Dr. Bugos completed her undergraduate music education degree with a combined emphasis in instrumental and vocal area from Houghton College in Houghton, NY.  She earned her Masters of Education degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN, and her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in music from the State University of New York in Buffalo.  In addition, she holds Orff-Schulwerk certification and Elementary General and Early Childhood certifications from the Gordon Institute for Music Learning.  She taught at the elementary music level for six years and has additional experience at the infant, toddler and pre-school levels.  She also has extensive publication and presentation credits to her name.  Before moving to Texas, Kristen used her gifts as a church musician at Wellsville Bible Church and at First Baptist Church of East Aurora.
