New Student Orientation (NSO) serves as the first step to prepare you for embarking on your exciting new educational journey. Whether you are a first-year student or transferring from another university, NSO provides you with the resources to succeed as a member of our community. The ETBU family and Student Affairs staff look forward to helping you become acquainted with your new Life on the Hill.
East Texas Baptist University recognizes that helping you experience a positive and engaging first year can make a significant impact on your level of academic performance, engagement in the campus community, and progress toward graduation. As part of your NSO experience, you will have an opportunity to visit academic departments, select a major, register for classes, connect with other students, and discover opportunities to get involved at ETBU.
It is imperative that all students new to our campus attend New Student Orientation. Once you have received your permit to register for classes, please select one of the following dates listed below and complete the online registration form to attend NSO.
2014 NSO Session Dates
Saturday, April 26
Monday, June 2
Monday, June 16
$50 per student.
The cost will be added to your student account.
You must have a permit to register for classes before registering for NSO. If you have any questions about your permit to register, please contact Admissions at 903-923-2000.
Your parents are welcome to participate in the NSO experience. Our goal is to help your parents and family members provide support during your transition from high school to college. Each NSO date offers a parent orientation discussion about being partners in student success. Registration costs include all orientation programming and materials along with a meal on campus for students and parents.
You will receive email messages from the Student Affairs staff to confirm your NSO session date and to provide essential details about food, parking, and check-in prior to the event. Please be sure to check your @ETBU.edu email. This email address will be used by university offices for official communications throughout your time at East Texas Baptist University.
