Where Does ETBU Go?
The Great Commission Center (GCC) provides opportunities for students to participate in short and long-term service experiences. Students can take part in mission projects during spring break or Christmas break, for a summer or semester, or most any time they are available.
During spring break 2013, the Great Commission Center led a team of students to minister among people living in poverty in Appalachia. In May 2013, the Great Commission Center will help lead a missions experience in Ethiopia.
If you are interested in being a part of these projects, contact us at email@example.com or (903) 923-2175. Additional missions experiences are available through the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) and the Leadership Development office.
The GCC also walks alongside student organizations and athletic teams in tailoring a service project to the objectives of each organization and team. In addition, the GCC collaborates with the BSM and International Education to provide cross-cultural experiences through travel study or semester abroad.
How Can We Send You?
The GCC awards scholarships in varying amounts for cross-cultural projects of all kinds. You can download a scholarship application or pick one up in the Spiritual Development office in the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center.
Students who are considering going overseas or even staying here in the United States can find help through ETBU Goes. ETBU Goes wants to make sure that you are equipped for your opportunity - knowing where you are going, what the project involves, how it can prepare you for your vocation, and how best to advance the Kingdom.
Who Else Goes?
ETBU Goes can take the form of service projects, mission trips, study abroad, and semester or career missions. Here are several additional avenues for service:
- GoNow Missions --the premier sending organization for Texas Baptist students
- International Mission Board
- North American Mission Board
- Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
