Frequently Asked Questions

What if I get logged out while I am in the process of registering a student? Will their schedule be lost?
Everything that you had registered them for will be saved in the system. Once you log back into the student's record, the courses will appear.

FAS indicates that my advisee has a registration "hold" and I can't register him/her. What should I do?
Tell the student to log onto his CampusConnect account. There will be a clear listing of what the hold(s) is/are. He can then go to the appropriate office, clear the problem, and return for advising and registration.

Why does the system log me out during the middle of an advising session?
For security purposes, the system is set to log itself out when no action or movement within the program occurs for 30 minutes.

I put a student in the wrong section of a course inadvertently. How do I make a correction?
Use your mouse to click the "Drop" button on the left side of the course you wish to drop, and then add the correct course.

Why did I receive and error message stating - "There are no courses which matched your specifications,", when I tried to print my course roster?
Make sure you selected the correct semester.

My advisee needed permission to register for a music course. I sent him/her to the dean of my school (Humanities). Why was my dean unable to override permission and register the student?
Only the Dean of the appropriate school can override the special permission requirement; (i.e.- permission for registration in a teacher education course can be overridden by an advisor in the Department of Teacher Education). Advisees in one school, needing any override for a course in another school, must complete a registration add/drop card (blue), secure the signature of the appropriate instructor, Chair, or Dean, and bring the card to the Office of the Registrar, where they can be registered for the course.

Why do I get an error message when I enter a student's social security number at the advising option?
You may not have access to advise this student. Please contact the Advising Office.

Why do I get a message stating, "Your schedule is full", when advising and registering a student?
The student is attempting to enroll in more than the normal credit load for a semester. The student can be advised to enroll within the suggested limits. Permission for override will require completion of the regular Drop/Add card (blue). The student must then get permission from their appropriate dean in order to take more hours than the normal credit load. If the student gains permission, then they will bring the signed Drop/Add card to the Office of the Registrar to complete the process and be registered in the course(s).

Why does the system prevent me from allowing a student to drop all his courses?
When a student drops all courses, this process must be treated as a withdrawal from the University. All withdrawals of this nature must be processed through the Office of the Registrar.

After checking Course Availability, I notice that a course is CLOSED, but has open seats in it. How can this be?
The course is a cross-listed course with another department. Check your catalog to see if that is the case.

I inadvertently entered an incorrect grade. Can I correct the grade before I submit my final grades to the Registrar?
Yes - simply click on the grade you want to change, and enter the correction BEFORE you answer, "Yes" to the question, "Is this your final grade posting,".

I need to make a grade change after marking grades final and submitting them to the Registrar. How can I correct this?
Please contact the Office of the Registrar. If it is after grades have been moved to the transcript, a form must be completed. If not, the Office of the Registrar will be able to reopen the course for you in order for you to make the appropriate changes.
