MARSHALL, Texas (4/15/13) - The East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band, conducted by Mark Crim, will present a concert Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Baker Auditorium on the ETBU campus. The concert is free and the community is invited to attend.
The concert will feature ETBU Adjunct Instructor of Percussion Anthony Robinson on James Curnow’s Concertino for Percussion. Robinson has served for over 30 years as a percussionist in the Shreveport, Longview, Texarkana and South Arkansas Symphony Orchestras, and is the Principal Percussionist and Assistant Conductor of the Marshall Symphony Orchestra.
"It is really a pleasure to work with Anthony Robinson on this project,” said Crim, ETBU Director of Bands. "There is not a more respected percussion performer or educator in the state of Texas. We are blessed to have him on our faculty and teaching our students.”
The band’s program also includes music of Leonard Bernstein, John Philip Sousa, Percy Aldridge Grainger and contemporary American composers John Mackey and Dana Wilson.
