MARSHALL, Texas (5/21/13)- East Texas Baptist University will hold a special “Time of Remembrance” on Memorial Day, May 27th beginning at noon in the Quad. The 8th annual service will commemorate those who have died in military service to our country.

ETBU Professor of Religion Dr. Jeph Holloway Writes Book Exploring “What is God doing about evil?"
MARSHALL, Texas (5/21/13)- The East Texas Baptist University Professor of Religion Dr. Jeph Holloway has written a new book, “The Poetics of Grace: Christian Ethics as Theodicy.” Dr. Holloway searches Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians to explore a faithful response to perhaps the toughest question of all: what is God doing about evil?

ETBU English Professor Chosen for Seminar Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities
MARSHALL, Texas (5/17/13)- The School of Humanities of East Texas Baptist University announces that Associate Professor of English Dr. Cassie Falke has been selected to attend one of seven “Summer Seminars for College and University Teachers” that are sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. A large number apply but only a few are chosen to attend, which brings together teachers from a broad variety of institutions to work in collaboration with peers and to study with experts in various humanities disciplines.

Four ETBU Students Attend Sigma Tau Delta 2013 International Convention
MARSHALL, Texas (5/17/13)- Four students of East Texas Baptist University attended the Sigma Tau Delta 2013 International Convention recently held in Portland, Oregon. Caroline Guidry, Mara Hartsell, Laura Stevens and Kelsey Shaw attended the convention which brings together English majors and minors from all around the world.

Liles Earns Softball's 7th All-American Award
SOFTBALL: EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (5/16/13) – Reaching one of the highest honors you can get in an athletic career, East Texas Baptist University’s Lacy Liles hit that goal on Thursday night when she was award all-American status. For her play this year the National FastPitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named her all-American on the second team.
This is the second all-American under Janae Shirley and the program’s eighth overall since it started in 1998.
