Eastern University official visits ETBU, shadows Provost

ETBU hosted a distingushed
guest this
week. Polly Berol, an
official from Eastern University
in Philadelphia, shadowed
Dr. Sherilyn Emberton as part
of the Leadership Development
Institute sponsored by
the Council of Christian Colleges
and Universities.
Dr. Emberton shared
with Berol the inner-workings
of ETBU, and introduced her
to several people that work
in different departments on
campus. The duo exploreddifferent
aspects of the school
and a variety of management
and development strategies.
Berol is employed at
Eastern University, working
primarily in finance and management.
Throughout her 22
years at the school, she has
held numerous positions,
including the administration
and monitoring of more than
$40 million in budgets, managing
and expanding facilities,
and a number of other jobs.
Berol was born in Schenectady,
New York in 1961.
Her family soon moved to
the suburbs of Philadelphia
where she grew up. She attended
Gordon College and
got her BA in Economics
in 1983. Berol went back to
school and got her MBA in
Economic Development in
1990 from Eastern University.
She has been married to
her husband, Peter, for 18
years. The two live in Havertown,
Pennsylvania with her
three daughters. Her husband
works as the Executive Director
of Marketing and the Interim
Director of Enrollment
for the Campolo College of
Eastern University. Her family
has attended Hope Community
Church in King of
Prussia, Pennsylvania for almost
eight years.
Through the LDI, Berol
has an opportunity to see what
it is like to work different jobs
in other colleges and universities
around the nation.
