The ETBU Men’s Basketball Team has started their season with an overall record of 9-6 and a conference record of 6-4.
The highlight of the season so far has been a 7-game win-streak. Centenary College stopped that winning streak that ironically started against Centenary College. During their winning streak, the Tigers outscored which opponents by a total of 609-454.
“We’re trusting each other and trusting the coaching staff,” said Jaron Joseph. “We’re listening, and if you focus and you listen you can do anything.”
Jeremy LeGarde has been the player of the year for the Tigers. He has scored 252 points, averaging 18 points per game. He leads the team in steals with 23 and in assists with 46. LeGarde is also able to draw fouls with his aggressive play and leads the team in free-throw attempts with 61, of which he made 5. He seems to be the most consistent and reliable player on the team.
The Tigers seem to be getting better as the season goes along. They are 8-2 at home and 1-4 when on the road, so Tiger fans make a big difference. When they played at home against Centenary, they won 90-60. When they played in Shreveport against Centenary, they lost 95-78. The Tigers are having a great season, but must learn to play well away from home if they wish to be successful.
“We have to keep our composure and play with intensity,” Joseph said, “We have to learn how to play without playing off the crowd.”
