TexShare Card Program

 The TexShare Card allows patrons to borrow materials from over 500 library collections across the state of Texas.  The card is accepted in a wide variety of public and academic libraries, allowing borrowers in good standing access to hundreds of books and other materials that would previously have been unobtainable.  A patron's library card, in combination with the TexShare Card, is a ticket to the powerful network of library resources in Texas.  To find another library that partipates in the program click here.

Who Qualifies for TexShare Card Through Jarrett Library?

Only primary users of Jarrett Library may qualify (students, faculty & staff).  Those users must also be in good standing at Jarrett Library with no current overdue or lost materials.  Users who lack a good record (consistently bringing back materials late or losing materials) may also be denied a card.

The following category of student qualifies for a TexShare Card:

• Junior and Senior level students
• Sophomores with written permission from a professor.

Freshmen and sophomores (with the exception noted above) are currently not allowed to participate in the TexShare Card program. 

Patrons not associated with ETBU as a student, faculty or staff member should try to obtain a TexShare Card through their local public library.

How to Obtain a TexShare Card

1. Make sure you are currently registered with Jarrett Library.
2. Apply for a TexShare Card at the circulation desk.

You will be issued a TexShare Card which must be presented to the reciprocating library along with other ID that the library may require.  Information on each institution's lending policies may be found on the TexShare Library Information page.  Choose the library you wish to visit then click on the link for their lending policies (3 columns over from their name).  If there is no active link that library is not a member of the TexShare Card program and will not accept your card for borrowing purposes.
