Printing

The library houses two printers for all public printing.

The default printer is black and white printing only.  This printer is set for duplex printing (printing on both sides of the paper) in order to conserve paper.  This setting may be changed when it is necessary to print something on one side of the paper - usually when handing in a final paper to a professor.  .

The second printer is a color printer.  In order to use this printer you will have to change the print settings. 

All students start each semester with 250 copies on their printing account.  Every page that is printed (not each piece of paper) is deducted from those 250 copies - in other words if your document is 11 pages long then those eleven pages are deducted, even when duplex printing.

Because of the higher cost of printing in color, a total of 5 pages are deducted for every page you print from your document.  In other words, if you print that same 11 page document in color then 55 pages will be deducted from your 250 copies.  You will probably find that you need only print those pages in color that have color and the remainder of your pages using the black and white printer.  This can be accomplished by choosing the page numbers in the print settings. 

If you have questions about how to change the print settings you may request assistance from the IT computer monitor on duty.  If a computer monitor is not available someone at the circulation desk may be able to assist you.

If you need additional pages added to your printing account you may purchase them at the circulation desk for $0.05 per page.

Attention: If you are a visitor in Jarrett Library and need to print you will be charged $0.10 per document page.

Copying

Jarrett Library currently houses two black and white printers.  Plans are being made to replace one of these copiers with a color copier.

Only copy cards can be used with the copiers - there are no slots for coins.  Copy cards may be purchased at the circulation desk in 20, 30 and 50 page denominations.  Cost for these cards is as follows:

20 copies = $2.00
30 copies = $3.00
50 copies = $5.00
