Library Computers

Jarrett Library houses approximately 45 public access computers for student, faculty & staff use.  All but four of those computer contain application software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) in addition to the Internet Explorer browser.  The four computers across from the Information Desk are for research purposes only, and include copies of some classroom software programs not available on other computers in the library.  These computers are also used by non-ETBU visitors - this keeps computers with application software are available for students. 

All computers housed in the library are under the care of the University's IT Department which takes care of maintenance of all the machines as well as the two printers.  A n IT Department student computer monitor is on hand most times the library is open.  Inquire at the Circulation Desk if you are unable to find the monitor on duty.  If one is unavailable the staff will do what they can to help you with your problem.

Library computers are under the same computer use guidelines as the rest of the campus.  "Surfing" and the use of social networks should be kept to a minimum since these computers are mainly for research and study purposes.  If you are attempting to watch a video or listen to audio through the computer you MUST use headphones.  If you do not have your own set the library keeps several on hand to be checked out.

All public computers in the library print to either the black and white duplex printer (this is the default printer and it prints both sides of the paper unless the settings are changed for single sided printing) and a color printer.  For every page in a document that is printed one page is deducted from the 250 pages you receive at the beginning of each semester.  For every page printed on the color printer 5 pages are deducted from the 250 pages you receive at the beginning of each semester, so use the color sparingly.  Additional print pages may be purchases for 5 cents per page at the Library Circulation Desk or at the University Business Office.
