Information for CIM Students
Students enrolled in the Certificate of Ministries program through ETBU and the BGCT are eligible to use all Jarrett Library collections, services and facilities. Those students who live too far away to visit the library may access all of our electronic resources remotely using our proxy server. Many of the electronic resources include full text of journal articles, electronic books, reports, video, audio and more. Access through the proxy server is simple - simply choose the database you which to search, click on the link, and if you are off-campus a login screen will load. Use your ETBU email login and password and as soon as the proxy server confirms you are authorized you will be sent directly to the database you chose. Click here for more information on remote access.
To find out which electronic resources are recommended for the study of religion visit the Electronic Resources page for either Religion/Theology or Philosophy. In addition to the subscription databases you will find a number of freely available databases appropriate for your use.
If you need assistance with your research feel free to contact the Reference Desk in one of the ways as listed on Ask A Librarian. You may find it easier to send an email requesting assistance and one of the librarians can call you back at a time convenient for you.
Your instructors may have a library instruction session during one of your classes or some sessions may be offered at other times at your site. Take advantage of these sessions whenever possible. You will learn a great deal about research within your discipline as well as how to access resources and services.
Most public libraries in the state of Texas have access to the core TexShare databases. You may find that you can do some of your research there, as well as request InterLibrary Loan for materials not available there. You may also want to take advantage of the TexShare Card program through either a local public library, or through Jarrett Library.
Please visit other areas of the Jarrett Library web pages for information on using the library or click on the link to one or more of the following brochures:
