M BASKETBALL: ETBU's Deba Egharevba named ASC East Player of the Week

MARSHALL, Texas (1/25/10) -- ETBU's Deba Egharevba has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Egharevba, a 6-5 junior forward from Plano, pumped in a career-high 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds in Saturday's 72-63 loss to Mississippi College. Egharevba averaged a double-double for the week, with 21.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in the Tigers' two games against Louisiana College and Mississippi College.

In Thursday's 75-69 loss to Louisiana College, Egharevba scored 16 points with 13 rebounds.

Egharevba leads the ASC in offensive rebounds per game (3.8) and is second overall in total rebounding (8.7). He ranks second on the ETBU team in scoring at 14.5 points per game.

The Tigers host rival LeTourneau Tuesday night at 7:30 in Ornelas Gym.
