CROSS COUNTRY: ETBU runners shine at annual FireAnt 5K

MARSHALL, Texas (10/10/09) -- ETBU's cross country teams participated in the annual FireAnt 5K run in Marshall Saturday as part of the city's 2009 FireAnt Festival activities.

Although not running officially as teams this week, several ETBU runners finished the 5K course with solid performances.

Included in those were Tigers Casey Morris and Mitch Barton, who finished in the top seven overall. Morris finished fourth overall out of 111 participants in the race with a time of 19:05, while Barton was seventh overall in 19:54.

Jeff Martin finished 23rd overall in 23:11.

For the Lady Tigers, Sarah Grey of Hallsville finished 25th overall in 23:20. Grey was one of the top three female finishers in the race, along with ETBU coach Natalie Bach-Prather who finished 20th overall in 22:19.

Kara Linn Beall finished 27th overall in 23:53, followed by Amanda Bell at No. 34 in 25:01. Cameron Christy was 36th in 25:32, with Casey Lantz finishing 38th overall at 25:44. Teammate Channin Spisak finished in 50th in 26:41.
