CROSS COUNTRY: ETBU teams open season at Northwestern State Invitational
NATCHITOCHES, La. (9/29/09) -- ETBU's cross country teams opened the 2009 fall schedule Monday by competing in the Northwestern State University Invitational at Demon Hills Golf Course.
The Lady Tigers finished fourth overall in the team standings, garnering 102 points. Host Northwestern State won the meet with 19 points, followed by Centenary College with 46 and Louisiana Tech with 84. Louisiana College finished behind ETBU with 109 points.
The top finisher for the ETBU ladies was Sara Grey, who finished 16th overall in 26:03.53. Cameron Christy was next at 17th overall with a time of 26:50.99, followed by Kara Beall at 18th overall in 26:51.68.
Amanda Bell finished 22nd overall in 28:31.98, and Casey Lantz was the 29th overall finisher in 37:49.27.
The Tigers also competed in the meet, finishing fifth overall with 108 points. Louisiana Tech won the men's side with 18 points, followed by Northwestern State with 53 and Centenary with 65. Louisiana College was fourth overall with 106 points.
Casey Morris was the top finisher for ETBU, running a 35:15.80 to finish 15th overall. Mitch Barton was 16th overall in 35:55.94, followed by Jaren Joseph at 38:38.08 to finish 22nd overall.
Other Tiger finishers were Kendre Smith and Michael Akers, who finished 27th and 28th overall, respectively.
Both ETBU teams will compete at Centenary College this Saturday.
