Coach Lane Loyd is in his second year as head coach of Lady Tiger Basketball in 2009-2010. Coach Loyd's first team finished with nine wins, a one-win improvement from the previous season, and included a two-game winning streak at the end of the year that saw ETBU upset nationally-ranked and ASC East champion UT Dallas. Coach Loyd, a native of east Texas, spent 10 years as a high school head coach and has worked on collegiate men's staffs at ETBU and at David Lipscomb, where he worked under all-time collegiate coaching wins leader Don Meyer.

Carlos Marbot

Former Tiger Carlos Marbot is in his second year as an assistant coach with the ETBU women's basketball program. Coach Marbot joined the new staff of head coach Lane Loyd upon finishing his own ETBU playing career following the 2007-08 season. Marbot has also played internationally, as a member of USA Athletes International. Marbot has playing experience overseas in Australia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France and Italy. He also participated in the Pro Basketball Combines in Philadelphia and received two invitations to try out in Europe, specifically in the UK and in Germany.

Ken Loyd

Longtime high school coach Ken Loyd retired from Avinger High School following the 2007-08 school year but didn't take long to jump back into coaching. Coach Loyd joined the ETBU staff under his son, Lane, in the late summer of 2008 and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts along the high school recruiting trail. During a 42-year coaching career at the high school level in Texas, Coach Ken Loyd racked up 851 victories and three state championships.

Marleah Akins
STUDENT ASSISTANT
Marleah Akins serves as a student assistant coach for the Lady Tigers in 2009-2010 after lettering as a freshman last spring in the program. Akins is a native of Belton, Texas, and transferred to ETBU for the spring 2009 semester. She started 15 of the final 17 games of the season at guard for the Lady Tigers, averaging 2.4 points. Marleah is majoring in Psychology at ETBU with a minor in Religion. She transferred to ETBU from Iowa State University.

Stephanie Taylor
STUDENT ASSISTANT
Former Lady Tiger Stephanie Taylor is now a student assistant for ETBU. Taylor played the previous three seasons for the Lady Tigers after joining the program in 2006-07 out of Katy Faithwest High School in Houston. She played in a total of 69 games in her career and was part of ETBU’s 2006-07 ASC East Division championship team that went undefeated in divisional play. Stephanie is an English major with a minor in Kinesiology at ETBU.
