UT Tyler wins title in extra innings, 5-4
May 10, 2009 -- UT Tyler's Whitney Wyly hit a three-run home run in the top of the eighth inning Sunday to give the American Southwest Conference champion Patriots a thrilling 5-4 win over Linfield College in the championship game of the 2009 NCAA Division III Softball Championship First-Round Tournament at ETBU's Taylor Field. The victory sends UT Tyler (39-8) to its first-ever berth in the NCAA Softball National Championship, while Linfield (39-6) barely missed another trip to the national tourney which it won back in 2007.

►Tickets
Tickets are available for $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Tournament passes will be available for $15 and $9. No complimentary passes will be issued or accepted.
►Concessions
Concessions will be operated throughout the tournament. Outside food or beverage will not be brought into the Taylor Field complex.
►Parking
Parking is available around the complex and in the Carlile-Howell Fieldhouse lot across Van Zandt Street from the softball complex. Parking will be free and first-come, first-serve.
►Media
Live stats will be available online for every game throughout the tournament. All media must have a valid credential. Players and coaches will be available after each game following a 10-minute cooling off period. Interviews with players and coaches are done by request and will be conducted in the Carlile-Howell Fieldhouse conference room.
