Lady Tigers fall in championship game to rival Louisiana College as ASC flexes muscle at NFCA Leadoff Classic

 MARCH 14, 2010 -- Twenty-four Division III softball teams from around the nation descended on Panama City, Fla., for this weekend's NFCA Leadoff Classic. But it was the three teams from the American Southwest Conference -- ETBU, Louisiana College and Texas-Tyler -- that stole the show by finishing in the top four with LC defeating the Lady Tigers, 9-1, in the championship game on Sunday. ETBU (11-1) advanced to the title game earlier Sunday with a 4-2 win over Christopher Newport in the semifinals but a six-run second inning by ASC East rival LC (15-0) sealed their fate in the championship. After the tournament, junior third baseman Meghan Fisher and senior pitcher Ayrika Henderson were named to the All-Leadoff Classic team.
