Tigers stay busy with action in summer leagues
MARSHALL, Texas (9/3/08) -- The summer was anything but time off for several members of ETBU’s baseball team.
Several Tigers competed in various collegiate summer leagues this season, with two – sophomores Matt Schimpf and Ryan Yezak – participating in Athletes In Action baseball leagues in the Northeast.

Right-handed pitcher Trey Pipes was named to the All-Star Game in the Boise Collegiate League, a league which also included junior first baseman Morgan Sloan.
Other Tigers participating in the Louisiana Collegiate League were junior second baseman Matt Hale; junior right-hander Jacob Magee; junior catcher Johnny Cole; sophomore right-hander Jake Atchley; junior left-hander Trevor Stagner.
Tiger newcomers for next spring who also played in the LCL were Bobby Mitchell, Ricky Brooks, Austin Evans, Jeremy Phillips and Luke Leftwich.
