East Texas Baptist University volleyball coach Lyndsay Mashe will be in her second season as head coach of the Lady Tigers in 2007.

Mashe was named the fourth head coach in the history of the program in February of 2006, less than a year after she'd graduated from ETBU after a two-year career with the Lady Tigers. The former Lyndsay Simpson, earned All-American Southwest Conference recognition as a player at ETBU in 2003 and 2004, first as a defensive specialist/libero in 2003 and then as ETBU's setter in 2004. She finished her career No. 2 on the Lady Tigers' all-time assists list, with 1,524. In 2003, she was a key member of the Lady Tigers' third straight American Southwest Conference championship team after transferring to ETBU from Panola College.

Mashe took over the program as head coach in 2006 from her former coach, Suzanne Wingrove, who had resigned after five highly-successful season with the Lady Tigers.

In her first season at ETBU, Mashe and the Lady Tigers overcame an 0-6 start to the season to finish 19-12. Mashe also guided ETBU to its first American Southwest Conference East Division championship since 2002. ETBU finished with a 15-2 mark against the conference and advanced to the program's sixth straight appearance in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament.

As a player, Mashe was a highly-touted setter coming out of Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas. She earned all-state honors for the tradition-rich Lady Pirates and signed with Panola College after her senior season.

At Panola, Mashe earned all-conference honors twice as a setter. She transferred to ETBU as a junior prior to the 2003 season and finished her college playing career with back-to-back all-conference honors with the Lady Tigers.

After graduating from ETBU in May of 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, Mashe spent one season as head volleyball coach at Atlanta High School before returning to her alma mater.

In her only season with the Lady Rabbits, Mashe guided Atlanta to a 24-10 record and went two rounds deep into the Class 3A state playoffs.

Lyndsay and her husband, ETBU volleyball assistant coach Kris Mashe, welcomed their first child, Brady Wayne Mashe, on Feb. 26, 2007.
