Inherit the Dream

Dear Alumni,
Isn’t it exciting to be a ETBU graduate and have the opportunity to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our wonderful alma mater! On October 22, 1912, the charter was granted by the state of Texas to form the College of Marshall, and on October 22, 2012, East Texas Baptist University will celebrate 100 years of tradition and history. We want you to play a role in this centennial celebration!
One of the most important parts of this year-long celebration will be the introduction of “Inherit the Dream; A History of the College of Marshall, East Texas Baptist College and East Texas Baptist University”. We are currently working on the College of Marshall section of the book and have discovered many wonderful things about the college. There were exciting events taking place, the beginning of wonderful traditions and so much history was in the making. This book will be the premier focus of the centennial celebration.
There is a way you can be a part of ETBU history. The Alumni Office is seeking stories, photos, and memorabilia from the College of Marshall, ETBC and ETBU era. We have many artifacts and photos in our archives but we know many alumni have items of their own that could be included in the book. If you have a photo, artifact, or story that you would like considered for inclusion into the book, please send us a letter or email, and identify what you have.
The book will be fresh off the press and available for sale at the beginning of 2012 and we know you want to reserve your copy. The Alumni Office is creating a special section at the front of the book for those who want to donate to this project. With a $1,000 donation, your name will be included in the College of Marshall donor section of the book.
We hope that you will choose to become a part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and to help us “Inherit the Dream”. This book will become an enduring legacy passed on from generation to generation. The book is $50 and is available now!
Sincerely,
Lindsay Culbertson (’02)
