ETBU Advising Program

East Texas Baptist University has a faculty based advising program that is coordinated by the Advising and Career Services office.  Every student is assigned a faculty advisor in their major field of study.  If you change your major you will be assigned a new advisor iln that department.

Your advisor will work individually with each you to help you understand the academic requirements of your major, select a minor, counsel you on career opportunilties available with your selected major and advise you on any other problems or questions you may have.  Your advisor will assist you in registering for the classes needed to graduate on time.  You are strongly encouraged to take full advantage of the services provided by your faculty advisor.  Your advisor can be your best resource for any assistance you may need personally or academically.  You can find your advisor on the demographics section of your Campus Connect.

The Advising and Career Services office can act as a backup to the assigned advisor.  Our office also does academic counseling for students that are on probation, continued probation or may need special assistance when they are encountering academic difficulties.

Other advising resources available to students are the student's individual degree audit available through their Campus Connect file, the semester by semester plan for each major and the four year course rotation plans available on the ETBU website.Tutoring services are offered by the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE).
