ETBU has been much more than merely my university; it has become my home and second family. Within the past three years I have been blessed with amazing friends, memories and opportunities that I will forever cherish. Being the first person in my immediate family to go to college, I was not too sure what I was looking for in a university. However, I was certain that I wanted to find a university that excelled in both academics and spiritual development. After visiting the campus, I fell in love with not only the East Texas scenery but also the sense of authentic community ETBU offered. ETBU is a small, Christ-centered university, which was something I really appreciated coming from a very large public high school. I absolutely love how the professors, faculty and staff genuinely want to see us, the students, succeed in and out of the classroom. Christ-centered goals, morals and values are what shape ETBU into a wonderful university that mobilizes its students to become effective servant leaders.
