Welcome! The goal of the School of Humanities is to provide our students abundant learning opportunities through general studies, the various departmental major and minor programs, and personal attention to each student's educational and career plans.
We offer majors in the Departments of: Languages and Literature (English, Spanish); Speech Communication; Mass Communication; and History and Political Science.
Our faculty members are committed to excellent teaching, mentoring, and guidance. We support the mission of East Texas Baptist University by endeavoring to equip our liberal arts students for: effective communication, distinctive intellectual and cultural awareness, advanced study, and outstanding service.
The School of Humanities sponsors various notable programs and projects: the annual East Texas Christian Writers' Conference, the publication of student writings in the Beacon, and the Model United Nations.
