The ETBU Jazz Band presents two campus concerts annually and performs at numerous sites in Marshall and in surrounding communities through tours to high schools and churches. The ETBU Jazz Band recently appeared in concert with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra at the Marshall Civic Center.
The Jazz Band provides an opportunity for students to learn to play various jazz styles that will prepare them for careers in teaching or performance. In addition to traditional big band jazz, the band will explore improvisation and other forms such as Blues, Latin, Jazz-Rock Fusion, and Funk.
The ETBU Jazz Band is an auditioned ensemble open to performers on saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. The Jazz Band rehearses on Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:50 in the fall and spring semesters.
