Eric Branscome received a BM from Stephen F. Austin State University (Summa cum laude), a M.M from Northwestern University, completed Teacher Certification at Dallas Baptist University, and is currently an ABD candidate in Music Education from the University of North Texas.
Mr. Branscome joined the Music Department at East Texas Baptist University in the fall of 2006. Previously, he taught courses in music education, instrumental music, and music history at Dallas Baptist University, and was a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas. Prior to that, Mr. Branscome taught preschool and elementary music for seven years in Miami, and in the Dallas area where he directed various elementary choirs, instrumental ensembles (Orffestra), and founded Camp Granada, a summer music day-camp program for schools in the Midlothian and Robinson Independent School Districts.
Mr. Branscome currently teaches courses in music education and instrumental music at ETBU. In addition, he founded and directs the Community Music Program, and teaches in the Elementary Division of that program. His publications and research interests include elementary curriculum development for music educators, and music education resources for home-school and general-classroom educators. He has twice been named to Who's Who in America and Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Mr. Branscome is a member of TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association), MENC (National Association for Music Education), College Music Society (CMS), Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Kappa Phi, and is an honorary member of Tau Beta Sigma (Sponsor, Iota Beta Chapter).
